A compact size shouldn’t fool you, the Blu uses technology derived from our flagship Red Reference CD Player and trailblazing up-sampling processes to deliver an outstanding, top level, CD transport.
Representing our flagship CD transport, Blu features our most advanced technology and is the perfect companion to our range-topping DAVE DAC as part of a dedicated two-box CD- replay solution. As a state-of-the-art CD transport, Blu takes full advantage of Rob Watts’ advanced WTA filter technology as used in our DACs.
Blu is capable of bit-perfect data extraction from CD and features selectable up-sampling from 44.1 to 176.4kHz to maximise accuracy before the signal is passed to a partnering DAC.
Blu benefits from a suite of high-performance digital outputs including 2x AES/EBU, 2x BNC for the Dual Data output, plus BNC and Toslink optical for standard data output (all selectable via a toggle switch).
Blu is thoughtfully versatile in use, too: all its functions have direct access buttons on the CD transport’s fascia and the unit is also supplied with a fully functioning remote control.
Further features include Chord Electronics’ high-frequency switching power supply, a dedicated CD-only laser mechanism for uncompromising performance music and a self- supporting lid design that automatically stops play when lifted, and also holds the disc puck in perfect place. A dedicated two-shelf Choral equipment support is also available for use with DAVE.
