Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer, Tim Young, (Grammy for The Beatles’ ‘Love’ album 5.1 Surround Sound mastering) has chosen our flagship DAC, DAVE, for all mastering duties at London’s world-famous Metropolis Studios.
Tim Young‘s career as an audio mastering engineer blossomed at the start of the 1980s. After delivering multi-platinum albums for The Clash, Sade, The Smiths, Elton John, The Pretenders and many others, Tim became the first non-US mastering engineer to win a Grammy Award, plus in 2011, he also won the Music Producers Guild Mastering Engineer of the Year award.
His more recent credits include Elbow, The Killers, Take That, Manic Street Preachers and 5.1 mastering for Queen. Commenting on his choice of DAVE Tim said, “The way it presents music is what I like about it… the actual character of the sound: the way the transients are, the attack and the lifelike quality, that’s what’s special for me about the DAVE DAC.”
