Hugo in the studio with Paradise Lost producer Jaime Gomez Arellano

Working with the likes of Paradise Lose, Art Brut, Plan B, Electric Wizard, Cathedral, Messenger, Ulver, and many more, award winning producer and mastering engineer Jaime Gomez Arellano of Orgone Studios is in high demand for his talent, which is why he demands only the very best digital to analogue converters from Chord Electronics to help him inside the studio, but also for when he’s high flying to his next on-location gig.

Jaime uses a Hugo TT in the studio, connected into his DAW and outputted to his monitor speakers, but also uses a Hugo for mixing or mastering on the go. He says;

The Hugo is just wonderful in terms of the clarity that you can get out of what you are hearing. When I first heard it I was telling the guys at Chord that it sounds like listening to music in 3D, you know, its like the difference between going to the normal cinema and going to the IMAX.

The imaging, everything was like ‘oh that cymbal is there, and that violin is there’. It’s so, so precise. So it helps me do my job very accurately. So I think that it’s very, very important.
